BBC Radio 2 has a number programmes devoted to acoustic and roots music: Nick Baraclough (Wednesday 7pm) & Mike Harding (Wednesday 8pm) present shows on country and folk respectively. Bob Harris Country (Thursdays 7-8pm) and Paul Jones's blues show (Thurs 8-9pm). In Concert (Saturday 5:30pm) has recently featured Shawn Colvin and Christy Moore.
BBC Greater London Radio 94.9FM. Although the station is primarily news and talk oriented during the day, the regular 12.30-1pm live session has showcased many new singer-songwriters. Regular shows by Bob Harris (Sat 2-6pm), Charlie Gillett (Sat 7-9pm), and David Hepworth (Fri 8-10pm) also present a reasonable amount of new music.
Pirate radio veteran Johnnie Walker crops up occasionally on GLR and frequently on Radio 2.He always plays interesting stuff.
